[Update: Rolling out] T-Mobile halted the Android Pie rollout for S9 and S9+

After officially halting the Android 9.0 Pie update for Galaxy S9 devices, the network is now sending this update to its consumers. Although the official support website is still showing the same old message.

We know it’s a hold habit of T-Mobile, as yesterday the mobile network started the rollout of Android 9.0 Pie for Galaxy S9 and S9+ devices but now halted the rollout.

T-Mobile updated its software update page, T-Mobile says that the Android 9.0 Pie update is “CURRENTLY ON HOLD”. The update began rolling out on February 10 but later was declared on hold.

The mobile carrier doesn’t share any details as to why they paused the rollout. You can imagine the cause, likely some bug was discovered and a new build needs to be compiled.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any actual date for the new update roll out – but hopefully, it will start soon. Don’t forget to check for the update by going into Setting > Software Update > Download Updates Manually.
