Samsung is working on a Snapdragon 850 based Windows 10 ARM notebook, launch set later this year

At Computex 2018, Samsung announced that it will launch a Snapdragon 850 based Windows 10 ARM notebook later this year. As an upcoming device, Samsung could use this SoC to powered another 2 in 1 convertible notebook.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 SoC is a second SoC designed specifically for ARM-based notebooks and Windows 10 2-in-1 devices. It’s an improved version of Snapdragon 845’s latest SoC for smartphones.

This new SoC brings more improvements than its predecessor which enhances device performance and long battery life. The SD850 base is again formed by eight adapted ARM computing cores, which raises the clock rates at the maximum of 2.96GHz, while the Snapdragon 835 stops at 2.6GHz.

Samsung is currently in a partnership with Qualcomm which needs no more excuses for making this move. Still yet to discover what kind of notebook company will bring from its gadget bag later this year, don’t worry we’ll keep you up to date so stay tuned.
