Thursday, Samsung Electronics denied all media reports that the South Korean tech giant will expand into the organic light-emitting diode (OLED) TV business.
The denial comes amid local reports suggesting that Samsung Electronics already made up its mind on turning back to OLED TV, which is numerous TV makers currently working on, including its local archrival, LG Electronics Inc.
“It is not true,” Han Jong-hee, president of Samsung’s Visual Display Business, told reporters after a forum in Seoul. “The company will push forward a two-track method.”
During the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the company announced that it will push ahead with the two-track strategy in its flagship TV business by adding its micro-level light-emitting diode (LED) lineup to its existing quantum dot LED (QLED) TVs.
