SamsungGalaxy Note 9 is a flagship device and comes with a new Bluetooth enabled S Pen. In addition to new features, the Note 9 comes with a new dual aperture AI camera, AR Emoji, and Super slo-mo video capture. Here are the Tips and Tricks that'll help you to get full use of Note 9's camera.
Galaxy Note9’s camera uses this AI feature to identify elements of a photo, such as a scene and subject, to automatically classify it into one of 20 categories and instantly optimize it based on the category. The result is a stunning, lifelike image with bold colors and dynamic definition.
To activate it launch the Camera App -> Camera Settings -> Toggle the switch of Scene Optimizer.
Get on with Flaw Detection:
This is an another AI feature that introduced in Galaxy Note 9's camera that lets you know if there’s something wrong with the captured shot, so you can take another picture without losing the moment. An immediate notification will appear in the image is blurry, the subject blinked, any smudge on the lens, or there’s backlight impacting the quality of the image.
Check the option in Camera App -> Camera Settings -> Flaw Detection -> Toggle the switch to turn On/Off.
Pro mode gives you complete controls over Note 9's dual aperture camera, so you can get the very image they want. Manually adjust settings such as ISO, shutter speed, and exposure levels, express your own style with filters or adjust the white balance settings to accommodate different lighting conditions.
To play with Pro Mode, Launch the Camera App -> Select Pro Mode.
The Note 9 provides a good quality Live focus images, to use it just simply launch the Camera app and swipe it left or right to swap between camera modes -> Select Live Focus -> You can also adjust the background blur opacity by the setting that appears after the Live focus selection.
Instead of Burst shot, you can create GIFs instantly by holding down the Camera button of the Note 9 but first you've to select it from Camera Settings -> Hold Camera button to -> Create GIF.
As a result, whenever you hold in the shutter button, the shot will be saved as a GIF.
One of the best camera feature that Samsung has ever built on a smartphone, and allows to capture dynamic, slow-motion video at 960 frames per second. The Note 9 also offers automatic Motion Detection, a feature that auto detects movement in the frame and starts recording automatically as it happens.
To capture Super Slow-Mo videos, launch the camera app -> Select the ‘Super Slow-Mo’ mode and start recording.
To change its recording time from 0.2 to 0.4 seconds, Go over to super slo-mo mode, switch between the two modes with a tap on the button labeled 0.2 or 0.4. However, 0.4 sec length videos will be saved in SD quality while the 0.2 sec video will be saved in High quality.
In Addition, you can also choose between Single and Multiple takes of Super slow-mo recording, Single take comes on default while the multiple takes allow you to capture up to 20 slow-motion moments per video. To activate multiple takes dive into Camera's settings -> Super Slow-mo -> Select Multi-take.
Create Super Slow-Mo GIFs
The Galaxy Note 9 allow you to create Animated Slow-Mo GIFs using forward, loop and swing videos.
Open the Image Gallery App.
Select a Super Slow-Mo video to create your Super Slow-Mo GIF.
Select the icon with the three horizontal dots (found in the top right corner).
Select Details, here You’ll be given the option to Loop, Reverse or Swing your video. Loop continuously loops the video; Reverse plays the video backward, while Swing plays and rewinds the video continuously.
Save your desired Super Slow-Mo GIF.
S Pen as a remote shutter button:
The new S Pen’s Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) connectivity allows it to serve as an intuitive remote control for your Galaxy Note 9 that lets you easily manage key functions, including the device’s camera, from within 10 meters of the device.
This means that when taking a selfie or a fun photo with friends, after launching the camera, rather than reaching for the shutter button (and possibly jeopardizing your carefully framed shot), you can instantly snap your pic with a click of the S Pen’s button. A double-click will switch from the front to the rear camera, and so on. Just give it a try and get hang of it.
How about if you want to delete/add existing options in the modes bar of the Camera app, yes you can do that. All you need to do is head towards Settings -> Edit Camera Modes -> Rear Camera and select to add or deselect the modes you want to remove.
After S9, the AR Emoji's now introduced in the Note 9, which is a fun feature that it allows you to turn a 2D selfie into a dynamic 3D avatar and choose from preloaded colorful characters or create one that looks just like them.
The personalized AR Emojis are also automatically turned into animated GIFs, these animated stickers offer a fun way to express yourself and inject personality into messages. In a partnership with Disney, Through AR Emoji Samsung is bringing cool new Disney characters to life such as Micky Mouse, Minnie, Goofy, Donald Duck and more.
Go to Camera App -> Select Super AR Emoji and start creating your own 3D animated avatars.
In addition to this feature, the Note 9's Live Messages allows you to edit these live stickers with the help S Pen, so you can create a fun sticker.
How to: Pop out the S Pen from the bottom of the Note 9 -> Click on 'Live Message' -> Write the live message and share it.
