Yes, Samsung will not launch next smartwatch with Wear OS
According to a previous report, Samsung was working on a smartwatch powered by Google’s Wear OS, formerly known as Android Wear. According to trusted leaker Evan Blass, who previously claimed, Samsung's next smartwatch will run Wear OS software rather than Tizen.

Now Evan Blass added:

"Update: turns out these were actually just one-offs made by Google and seeded to some Samsung workers (i.e. keep moving, nothing to see here)."

Samsung released a new software update for the Gear Sport

The Galaxy Watch (or Gear S4) Will not be Samsung’s first Wear OS-powered smartwatch. It means we will not see Wear OS running on Samsung's next smartwatch (Gear S4/Galaxy Watch). Samsung previously used Android Wear software for its first smartwatch in 2013, but it soon switched to Tizen OS for future generations including last year’s Samsung Gear Sport.

Samsung Gear S3 getting a new software update with improvement and new feature

We’ve been hearing that Samsung’s next-generation smartwatch may not even be called the Gear S4. Instead, it could simply be called as the Galaxy Watch. Samsung recently trademark applications for “Galaxy Watch’ and “Galaxy Fit” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). This suggests the company might be thinking to drop the “Gear” brand for its wearables.
