Samsung’s latest update brings a new feature called ‘Always On Display‘ that adds cool new features to your Samsung device. The new software update is bringing animated GIF support on the AOD function, something that is already available on the company’s latest flagships, the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. Now, any Samsung phone running Oreo including the S9, S8, and Note 8 can add a GIF to the lock screen. Check out this how-to guide to activate this feature on your own device.
1. Check Always on Display (AOD) update:
If you haven’t received the update yet, you can get the latest version of the Always On Display by first head to the Galaxy Apps store. From there, tap on the three-dot menu button in the top right corner and select My Apps. In the end, hit the Update button, locate the Always-on Display option, and choose its update button.
2. Select a GIF from GIF gallery:
After the update, you’ll be logged into the GIF selection gallery, where a hefty amount of GIF already available to choose. You can also choose your own GIF from device storage. This feature also allows you to get one from Giphy and from other gif apps as well.
3. Finalize the Gif Setting:
To finalize the last step all you need to do is select a clock style, and to do this first navigate into system ‘Settings’ -> select Lock Screen And Security -> choose Clock and FaceWidgets -> Clock Style -> Find the gif that will suit on your Always On Display. If you want to use pre-loaded GIF’s, Select the Add GIF button and find the GIF you want to set. Hit the apply and There you go enjoy your customized ‘Always On Display’.
