Galaxy S10 and S10+ getting "Urgent" Biometric security patch for fingerprint scanner, brings more accuracy

After the launch of Galaxy S10 devices, Samsung sent the first firmware software update with performance improvements for Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and now a new update has been popping up on the Galaxy S10 and S10+ phones with an "Urgent update" mark.

Today, Samsung Galaxy S10 devices started receiving a pop-up software update. Although, it's not a firmware update and only weighs at 6.9MB. Also, it's an urgent update and detailed as "Biometric security patch - Fingerprints", related to the Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

Moreover, the users over Reddit reported that only a few of them has received this so-called urgent update and may expand in more regions very soon. Meanwhile, they also reported that after this update the fingerprint scanner's accuracy has been increased and it's unocking faster than before.

The user who informed about this update confirmed the version of Biometric has also been upgraded. To check your S10's Biometric version go to Settings > Biometrics and security > Biometrics preferences > Version.

Last month, Samsung announced that it'll send continues to update for the S10 devices to bring improvements in its fingerprint scanning accuracy. And this may be the EMI of that promise.
