Samsung Galaxy S10+ is the high-end variant among S10 lineup, whether you talk about its large infinity-O display, new camera system or features like the in-display fingerprint, the Galaxy S10+ stands above every flagship in the smartphone world.
And this new Samsung flagship has dominated the Consumer Reports smartphone rating as the top player and raised its bar even further.
Consumer Report has recently finished testing the new Galaxy S10+ and the tests performed by the organization is based on its performance, durability, cameras, battery life, display, and other features. These tests were also conducted on the Galaxy S10 and S10e.
"What puts the S10+ on top is the exceptional way it performs the basics. It has the longest battery life in our ratings, excellent cameras, and the durability to withstand the physical abuses of daily life." said the firm.
Also, the company has recently made changes in the ratings for brand predicted reliability and owner satisfaction, which are now stored into Overall Scores.
To find out exactly how long a smartphone’s battery can keep up, Consumer Reports uses a robotic finger programmed to put a phone through a range of tasks designed to simulate a user’s average day. The robot browses the internet, snaps pictures, streams a video, uses GPS navigation, checks standby time and makes phone calls.
The test recorded battery life at 39.5 hours for the S10+, which a full 8 hours above than the Galaxy Note 9. Meanwhile, the S10 and S10e deliver 35.5 and 33.5 hours respectively.
To test the durability of smartphones, the phone was sent for 100 drops in a tumbler, a rotating metal chamber. This ensures that the phones strike the bottom of the machine at myriad angles, simulating a wide range of falls.
In this test, the phone rises above with unscattered skin and also passed CR's water immersion test too and the same goes for the S10 and S10e.
The Galaxy S10 and S10+ come with three rear camera system and but the only S10+ includes a dual selfie setup. which adds extra power for selfie camera.
According to the tester, the camera of Galaxy S10 devices allows users to capture amazing bokeh shots with its new Live Focus mode that allows users to capture a shot with four different background blurs and did a nice job of detecting the subject and the background.
Also, its Ultra-wide angle lens also captures a wide angle of field, which is new to the series.
The Consumer Report showed strong reliability on this flagship smartphone and placed it on the top.
"What did we learn? Well, Samsung’s scores were high enough to earn the brand an Excellent rating for predicted reliability and a Very Good rating for owner satisfaction."
Also, the evaluator has been amazed by the Galaxy S10 Plus' 6.4-inch Infinity-O OLED display, Wireless PowerSharing feature, and the Ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
The Galaxy S10+ stays on top of this list followed by iPhone XS Max and Galaxy S10 for 2nd and 3rd place respectively, iPhone XS comes on 4th while the Galaxy S10e ranked on the 5th place.
