How to remap Bixby button on Galaxy S10, S9, S8, Note 9 and Note 8 devices

Since its launch on Galaxy S8 phones, Samsung's smart assistance has grown rapidly in intelligence and the company is embedding it more and more in its device ecosystem but for some of the users it's like a curse because somehow their fingers ended up being landed on the dedicated Bixby button and that's the root of all causes.

To solve this problem Samsung has prepared a new function that can help users to remap that dedicated Bixby button to other action. Although, it only allows users to add an additional action to this button and doesn't completely remove Bixby from its job.

Whether you select single or double press action to map an app launch, the other action will automatically be used to launch Bixby. On top of this, you can only select one option between single and double press.

For example: If a user chooses the single press to map an app, the double press will be used to launch Bixby. On the other hand, if the user chooses the double press to map an app, the single press will be used to launch Bixby.

Before you jump right into settings do remember that Bixby needs to be on the latest update and to update it, head Galaxy Apps store > My apps > Update, and from here download the Bixby related updates.

After the update is completed, launch it by the Bixby key, head into Settings > Bixby key >  Choose from the followings.

  1. Single press to open Bixby  - Double press to select an App or a Quick Command.
  2. Double press to open Bixby - Single press to select an App or a Quick Command.

Note: Long hold on Bixby key will not be affected by this feature.
