Samsung, today unveiled its stunning new line of premium smartphones – The Galaxy S10 in India.
Samsung's mobile business head DJ Koh also revealed that the Galaxy Fold would make its debut in the country. Koh said that the foldable phone will launch in the country at some point.
After the Galaxy S10 series India launch in New Delhi, DJ Koh, President and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications Division, Samsung Electronics, confirmed that the Galaxy Fold will indeed launch in India.
"Indian market is, I clearly said, most important market — not only investment and everything, my long-term commitment is towards the market. In this market, why will I not deliver my newest technology innovation? Yes, I will do," Koh said.
Samsung would like to manufacutre the Galaxy Fold in India, to cut down the high price. He said:
"Because of taxes, we must make it in India, to sell in India."
Koh said the company would like to consolidate manufacturing at one place, which makes sense given the limited quantities of Galaxy Fold that are likely to go up for sale.
Samsung is set to roll out pre-orders for the Galaxy Fold from April, and right now there's no official word on when the foldable phone will be available in India.
