Samsung unveils 860 QVO SSD lineup with multi-terabyte storage capacities

Samsung today unveiled the Samsung 860 QVO SSD, its new consumer solid state drive (SSD) lineup, featuring up to four terabytes (TB) of storage capacity with improved speed, performance, and reasonable pricing.

The 860 QVO SSD is built on the high-density 4-bit multi-level cell NAND flash architecture with the sequential read speed of 550 megabytes per second (MB/s), and the write speed is estimated at 520MB/s.

Compared to 3-bit MLC SSD product, this 4-bit solution can increase the amount of data stored in a chip of the same size by 33 percent.

“Today’s consumers are using, producing and storing more high-resolution files than ever, including 4K videos and graphics-intensive games, escalating demand for greater capacities and performance in storage devices,” said the company.

The SSD is also integrated with Intelligent TurboWrite technology, which helps to accelerate speeds while maintaining high performance for longer periods of time.

Also, these SSD comes with a three-year warranty, or up to 1,440 terabytes written (TBW) for the 4TB version, and 720 TBW and 360 TBW for the 2TB and 1TB versions, respectively.

The 860 QVO SSD will be available globally from December 2018 in three storage options of 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB with a price tag of $149.99, $299.99 and $599.99 respectively. For more information, please visit samsung.com/ssd or samsungssd.com.
