Samsung SDI showcased its automotive batteries at InterBattery 2018 event

Samsung’s battery production arm Samsung SDI on Wednesday said it took part in the InterBattery 2018 exhibition held in South Korea, where it showcased its latest technologies.

The InterBattery 2018 kicked off in Seoul on Wednesday for a three-day run (10 – 12 October), with over 200 battery-related companies participating in the event.

According to YonhapNews, Samsung SDI said it displayed electric vehicle batteries and energy storage systems (ESS) at the exhibition to help visitors better understand the technologies behind battery products.

The company also displayed the BMW i3 electric vehicle, which is equipped with Samsung SDI’s battery and a new battery cell technology, which enables electric cars to run up to 500 kilometers on a single charge.
