Samsung unveiled its first 8K QLED TV at IFA 2018, comes with 8K Resolution and 8K AI Upscaling

During IFA 2018 Press Conference, Samsung unveiled its first 8K QLED TV. The company said this new TV bring true 8K Resolution and 8K AI Upscaling features that deliver realistic life-like images and sounds quality.

The 8k QLED TV (Q900R) is available in four ultra-large screen sizes (65”, 75”, 82” and 85”) and to bring 8K-quality in life it features 8K-ready enhancements, including Real 8K Resolution, Q HDR 8K, and Quantum Processor 8K.

The Q900R features ‘Real 8K Resolution’ capable of 4,000 nit peak brightness and creates 8K quality images. This feature allows TV to produce four times more pixels than a 4K UHD TV and 16 times more pixels than a full HD TV.



The ‘Q HDR 8K’ powered by HDR 10+ technology which optimizes the TV’s brightness levels and produces dynamic colors and images is also incorporated to deliver pictures as intended by creators.

The 8K LED TV is packed with 8K AI Upscaling technology which is based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and also comes with a picture and sound quality to a level compatible with 8K.

The AI Upscaling is powered by ‘Quantum Processor 8K’ that detects the source of the content whether it’s coming from a streaming service, set-top box, HMI, USB or even mobile mirroring, it auto upscales the content to fit in 8K quality.



In addition, to add more user efficiency the 8K QLED TV also comes with a set of functions including One Remote, Ambient Mode, One Visible Connection, SmartThings and Universal Guide.

Samsung said its QLED 8K with 8K AI Upscaling is a part of the company’s long-term vision of leading 8K to the forefront as the most accurate and life-like screen resolution on the market. The Q900R will be available in stores from the end of September.
