All Galaxy S10 models will come with on-screen fingerprint sensor

The South Korean company, Samsung Electronics, is preparing to integrate fingerprint scanner on the screen for all the three variants of the Galaxy S10, according to an industry source.

“The two high-end Galaxy S models will come fitted with an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint scanner while the other one will house an optical fingerprint sensor beneath the screen,” an official from the display industry told to the South Korean news outlet The Investor.

Samsung will release its first 5G phone in early 2019, but it will not be the Galaxy S10

The ultrasonic fingerprint sensor will be exclusively supplied by the Qualcomm. In another report, Market research firm IHS Markit forecast shipments of smartphones featuring an on-screen fingerprint sensor will hit 100 million next year.

Samsung is planning to launch three variants of the Galaxy S10 next year, including a premium large-screen Galaxy S10+ whose project name is Beyond 2, a basic Galaxy S10 or Beyond 1 and a cheaper S10 version or Beyond 0.
