Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) smartphones are getting a major software update. The Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8+ is finally here. The update also includes the July 2018 security patch.

The Galaxy A8 and A8+ users are getting 8.0 Oreo update in Russia, and now heading to more countries. Carrying the software version A730FXXU2BRG1 for the Galaxy A8+ and A530FXXU2BRG1 for the Galaxy A8.

The Android 8.0 Oreo update may take days or weeks to reach devices across the globe. You can also check for the update by going into Setting > Software update > Download updates manually.


The Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) were both launched last December, and the two handsets originally shipped with Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
