Samsung and hotel operations platform ALICE announced a new hotel management solution that uses Samsung Gear S3 smartwatches to improve staff communications, speed responsiveness to guests, and enhance customer service.
Samsung is issuing hotel staff with Gear S3 smartwatches so that contact between managers and the team can be quick, discreet and hands-free.
Viceroy Hotel Group will be the first hotel to use a combination of the Samsung Gear S3 smartwatch and Alice, the hotel operations platform, as a way to connect staff with guest requests.
Viceroy Hotel Group will soon give its employees the Samsung Gear S3 with LTE connection to replace bulkier walkie-talkies and even smartphones.
It’s faster and requests can come in with more detail. Users will be able to access special-made shortcuts, tapping once to signal reception or tapping a button twice for luggage to be carried.
It’s an essentially hands-free system, and because it’s attached to your wrist it’s harder to lose, plus it’s expected to speed up attentiveness, too.
Samsung’s new scheme will be seen for the first time at the Samsung and ALICE booths at HITEC 2018, the world’s largest hospitality technology show which takes place in Houston, Texas from June 18-21.
It will be used by Viceroy L’Ermitage hotel stuff, Beverly Hills, from this summer. Additionally, there are plans to roll the system out to other Viceroy hotels.
