Samsung Gear S4 gets huge battery boost

Samsung’s upcoming Gear S4 is set to be a big improvement on the Gear S3 if recent leaks are proven to be accurate.

In Samsung Gear S3, Samsung has increased the size of the battery and included a GPS to give the smartwatch more autonomy from your paired Android phone.

Well, we have a good news about upcoming Gear S4 smartwatch. The Ice Universe, a leaker with a decent track record for accurate leaks, has revealed that the Gear S4 could have a 470mAh battery. It would be a huge improvement on the Gear S3’s 380mAh power pack.

The Gear S4 will feature improved internal hardware and place a specific focus on enhanced health and fitness tracking functionalities enabled by Samsung’s S Health service, including more in-depth sleep monitoring.

Samsung is supposedly planning to debut the Gear S4 later this year but no more specific timeframe has been provided. With the Gear Sport and Gear S3 families debuting at the last two iterations of IFA, the next flagship wearable offering from Samsung may follow the same pattern and end up being unveiled at this year’s edition of the Berlin, Germany-based electronics show.

IFA 2018 is running from August 31 through September 5 and may also end up being the event that sees the announcement of the Galaxy Note 9. No information on pricing is available yet.
