The next iteration of Samsung’s next-generation SoC is expected to feature the ‘powerful & efficient’ Mongoose 4 CPU.
According to tipster Ice Universe, the Mongoose 4 CPU will be powerful than the ARM Cortex-A76 CPU in terms of both performance and energy efficiency.
The Cortex-A76 cores can reach clock speeds of up to 3.30GHz. So it will be impressive if Samsung can surpass that. According to Ice Universe’s tweet, the Mongoose 4 CPU will top that speed. No further information has been provided about the performance of the new tech.
The Exynos 9810 is built on 10nm FinFET process node and the next version is expected to appear on a 7nm FinFET process.
Samsung is working on scaling further down than a 7nm process and, in the future, much smaller nodes shouldn’t be ruled out completely. However, a 7nm-based Samsung Exynos 9820 is almost a certainty, given the company’s plans for its chips.
The new Exynos 9820 with the Mongoose 4 CPU is expected to appear inside the Samsung Galaxy S10, that’s not expected until next year.
